Explore Calabasas History at the Calabasas Library
A new monthly series led by the Calabasas Historical Society (CHS)
Jan. 26th, 12noon: Park Moderne AKA The Bird Streets– Learn the history of the first sub division of Calabasas. See a video, photographs and maps from the CHS collection.
February 23, 12noon: California Cooking– Explore recipes from the 1950-80’s in cookbooks from the CHS collection. Cookbooks focus on California missions, hospitality and heritage.
March 29, 12noon: The History of Girard– Learn the story of Girard, the town that later became Woodland Hills. See pictures of plot maps and learn how developers enticed settlers.

The Minnie Hill Palmer House, also known as The Homestead Acre, is the only remaining homestead cottage in the San Fernando Valley. The cottage is a redwood Stick-Eastlake style American Craftsman-Bungalow located on a 1.3 acres (0.53 ha) site in Chatsworth Park South in Chatsworth.


The Dudley House, Ventura Downtown LA Walking Tour of the historic core of Los Angeles. The tour, led by a special docent of the Los Angeles Architectural Conservancy, includied the following buildings and landmarks: Pershing Square, Biltmore Hotel, Pacific Mutual Building *, Mayflower Hotel (now Hilton Checkers), Southern California Edison Building *, Los Angeles Central Library, US Bank Tower, Title Guarantee and Trust Building, Subway Terminal Building , Broadway Department Store (now known as the Junipero Serra State Office Building), Angels Flight, Grand Central Market, and Bradbury Building

Urban Rangers’ Last-Harrah Malibu Public Beach Safari. The Safaris was a 3-year Malibu project to celebrate our public beaches.
